(a) Definitions.
(1) Truck means a vehicle designed for carrying property which vehicle has a licensed gross weight in excess of twelve thousand (12,000) pounds.
(2) Trailer means a vehicle designed for carrying property and for being drawn by a motor vehicle and which has an actual gross weight in excess of eight thousand (8,000) pounds.
(b) It is unlawful for any person to operate any truck or trailer over any street or alley within the city, except:
(1) Rush Avenue from the west City limit to the east City limit.
(2) Andale Road from the north City limit to the south City limit.
(3) Second Avenue from Andale Road to ½ block west of Main Street.
(4) Main Street from Second Avenue to Rush Avenue.
(5) Anderson Street from Main Street to Dale Street.
(6) Anderson Street from Andale Road east ½ block.
(c) Those streets of the city over which truck or trailer traffic is prohibited by this article shall be marked by the placing of appropriate signs on such streets.
(d) Exceptions. This section shall not apply to:
(1) Emergency vehicles responding to an emergency.
(2) To the use of a street or alley by a truck or trailer as herein defined solely for access to adjacent property as is necessary to serve that property.
(e) Special permits.
(1) The city clerk, upon written request may issue one-day (1) special permits to operate trucks and trailers on streets restricted by this section.
(2) An appeal of a denial of such a special permit shall be to the city council.
(f) Any person convicted of a violation of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment for sixty (60) days or both such fine and imprisonment.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person or operator to park a truck with a manufacturer rated capacity in excess of one (1) ton or a bus or truck tractor, road tractor, farm tractor, trailer or semi-trailer on any street located in a residential zoned district in excess of two hours. However, this section shall not apply when the two-hour time limit is exceeded by the vehicles unloading merchandise at the location where the violation occurs.
(b) Anyone convicted of violating this section shall be punished by a fine of $25.00 for the first offense, $50.00 for the second offense, $75.00 for the third offense; the fine for a further repeating violation shall be at the discretion of the judge, not to exceed $500.00.

(a) Parking is prohibited on any street or portion of a street where the governing body has caused official signs to be posted prohibiting parking.
(b) Any person found to be violating this section shall be assessed a fine not to exceed $500.00.

(a) In accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 8-1560, the Governing Body of the City of Andale, Kansas hereby determines and declares speed limits as follows:
(1) The speed limit on streets in residential districts within its corporate limits is twenty (20) miles per hour, unless otherwise legally posted within the City of Andale, Kansas.
(2) Andale Road. The speed limit on North 247th Street West, also known as Andale Road, shall be 35 miles per hour within the city limits of Andale, Kansas.
(3) First Street and 255th Street. The speed limit at the curve at the intersection of First Street and 255th Street in Andale, Kansas, shall be 15 miles per hour.
(4) Second Street. The speed limit on Second Street from Sevy Street to K-296 Highway in Andale, Kansas shall be 30 m.p.h.
(5) Sixty-First Street. The speed limit on the south side of Sixty-First Street north from Andale Road to 150 feet east of Jubilee Street, in Andale, Kansas, shall be 30 m.p.h.
(b) Said speed limits are subordinate to all school zones properly established by ordinance.
(c) Signs shall be posted indicating the reduced speed limit. Any person operating a motor vehicle in violation of the terms of this subsection shall be sentenced to a fine not exceeding $500.00.

(a) There is hereby established a School Zone at the following location within the City of Andale, Kansas, to wit:
On Rush A venue between the west city limits of Andale, Kansas and Main Street.
(b) Such School Zone along the above-described street shall be in effect between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. when children are present. Children are considered to be present when any minor child is within 100 yards of the school zone in any direction.
(c) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in excess of twenty miles per hour in such school zone and at such times as described herein.
(d) Any person convicted of violation of the terms of this section shall be sentenced to a fine not exceeding $500.00.

(a) The driver of any vehicle traveling north on Main Street in Andale between Second A venue and Fifth A venue shall not turn such vehicle into a parking space located on the west side of Main Street.
(b) The driver of any vehicle traveling south on Main Street in Andale between Second A venue and Fifth A venue shall not turn such vehicle into a parking space located on the east side of Main Street.
(c) The driver of any vehicle exiting a parking space on the west side of Main Street in Andale between Second A venue and Fifth A venue shall exit such parking space only into the southbound lane of traffic and shall not exit from the parking space into the northbound lane of traffic.
(d) The driver of any vehicle exiting a parking space on the east side of Main Street in Andale between Second A venue and Fifth A venue shall exit such parking space only into the northbound lane of traffic and shall not exit from the parking space into the southbound lane of traffic.
(e) No driver shall operate any compression release engine braking system commonly known as a jake brake on any vehicle within the city of Andale.
(f) Any person who is convicted of violating this section shall be sentenced to pay a fine which shall be fixed by the court not exceeding $500.00.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any firm, corporation, partnership or individual to permit any trains, engines or cars to stand upon any street, thoroughfare or alley within the corporate city limits of Andale, Kansas for a period of time exceeding ten (10) minutes at any one time without leaving an opening in the travel portion of the street, thoroughfare or alley of at least thirty (30) feet in width.
(b) Any firm, corporation, partnership or individual convicted of a violation of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined a sum not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500).
